My sleepy little Jeep is wide awake now!

I waited a few months to write this review so I could be more thorough than "hey I just put it in seems great."
I got the Pedal Commander for my Jeep Renegade hoping to get better gas mileage, but I'm even more impressed by how it improves how the car drives. About ten tanks in, and I'm converted.
I track all my gas purchases, octane, and mileage, so the following is backed up by my small data set.
I'm getting just under 5% better mileage using the Eco setting at its most-thrifty -4. I'd already started to master the Renegade throttle-feather before I bought it, which might explain why my results are on the lower end of the 5-10% promised. I was also using higher-octane gas on average, so the effect of the PC on my MPG is moderate, but noticeable. It seems to improve cruising mpg during highway driving with premium gas.
Where it really shines, though, is taking the stock herky-jerky throttle response and smoothing it out. I'm coming to the Renegade after driving stick-shift for years, and I hate the way the stock throttle works with delayed surges in power instead of smooth, intuitive acceleration.
Pedal Commander on the lowest Eco setting gives me a very smooth ride, but I can still punch the gas and get all that torque when necessary. It's just a far more intuitive, engaging drive now. I can switch in City settings for a sort of "sport mode" that is fun once a month or so, or when I see a tricky pass coming up in advance.
I take it off when I get dealer service to avoid questions, and I always sigh with relief when I get it back on.
While it might not make your Renegade a gas-sipping hybrid, it'll help, and it will certainly make your jeep more fun to drive. I even suspect it's good for the car to not be constantly jerked around by the throttle. Just a hunch.
Five big stars/wouldn't Renegade without it.

The instructions were useless but once I figured it out took seconds to install. Totally transforms the throttle response. Highly recommend!

I own a 2016 Jeep Renegade Trailhawk.
Prior to using the Pedal Commander I was only able to manage 26-28 mpg on the highway.
Now that I have driven back and forth to Houston from Austin TX. for 4 days this last week, the results were remarkable.
I was able to use the Eco Mode and get a constant 30.5 - 32.5 mpg.
The Sport Mode is nice when you want a little bit more responsiveness out of the throttle.
Overall I am very pleased with the results.

Easy to install. I was sceptical at first but after installing it I'm not anymore. What a difference it makes. I highly recommend Pedal Commander.

I have it set to City +3 and holy moly, it makes my 2.4L 4 cylinder feel like it has a V6 or more when I give it the gas!!! I noticed I lost about 2 mpg but personally I'll take the tradeoff!!! No issues with install (well the space where the plug is located was tight but that's on Jeep lol) and no warning lights (I haven't went above City +3). The price is up there, but it's pretty worth it for me due to the added fun this little gadget gave my Jeep!!!

Worth the money. Sport mode is to fast though

Love this thing. My renegade has so much more power. I will recommend it to all my family and friends.

It actually works and has made driving my renegade more enjoyable, and safer. It completely eliminates pedal lag and in turn, increases throttle response significantly.

It does what it says, I just feel 300.00 is a bit steep. Really makes the throttle control to feel like the old direct controlled throttles

Easy to install and works as intended with a noticeable difference! Could be cheaper but was a good product.

Easy to install, right away I noticed a difference on my 2019 jeep renegade with 1.3l turbo, that lag/hesitation was gone, started off with city +4 and I barely touched the gas it it spun the tires, which I have never done before, I turned it down to city -1 and is still a huge improvement, it just goes, this is day 1. Will do follow up in few days or a week.

This device made all the difference on my 2021 Jeep Renegade Limited, I couldn't be more pleased! Installation was a breeze (sans crawling around on the floor of the car), just be SURE TO FOLLOW INSTRUCTIONS.

So far, so good in my 2017 Latitude! I chose to mount the control unit under the dash and control it through Bluetooth. I'm sitting in City +1 and the difference is night and day! Sport mode makes driving slowly in my neighborhood difficult. I can't speak to the gas mileage quite yet but I do plan on trying out eco mode for a bit to try it out.

Just what my Renegade 2017 2.4L needed. Big freaking difference, every Renegade need this... completely safe to use, you just need to understand how it works to know its safe. It won't interfere with your computer diagnosis, dealer repairs or warranty. This won't break your engine or your transmission. This only works with your throttle, just a connection from the accelerator throttle and computer. The only cons is if you use it in sport it will probably make your check engine light come on but it will reset itself after you run it for a while or reset by yourself with a code reset device, not a big deal for me as I know its a false alarm and it will reset later. Its completely worth. Very amazing. My acceleration response is where is suppose to be, I use it all the time in City mode, level 4 that's all I need and no false engine light alarms.

This little thing fixed the only thing I didn’t like about my Renegade. I’ve been using it for a couple months and even took a road trip with it and 0 problems.

Easy install and the difference is unreal. My hisband didn't believe me when I told him how big of a difference it made until he drove it. Definitely a must for the renegade.

ABSOLUTELY WORTH EVERY PENNYThis little jeep has an ATTITUDE nowAccelerates INSTANTLY no more lagIts SCARY on sport+ modeI drive in sport -2 and thats about all i can handleThis little module will make you burn rubber in a turn if you turn off traction controllTHE JEEP HAS TESTOSTERONE NOW!if you play with the controller settings too much you might throw a check engine lightFortunately iv already got a scanner and cleared it myself

I bought the cheaper alternative.. and it failed with in 10 miles. This one is easier to install and is more probust.I have not gotten any engine codes and it's way more responsive and makes my Jeep funner to drive and can easily pass slow traffic unlike before ( the old slow pedal response was annoying trying to pass slow trailers on 2 lanes county roads )

I was a bit skeptical but after getting it installed I was absolutely shocked at how well it actually works. Night and day performance-wise. Installation in a Renegade is a nightmare because of the tight spaces in which the work is performed. Also the instructions do not tell you that you have to pry the clip off of the sensor connector with a screwdriver or knife and that the connector slides off to the front not the top. Once that was figured out, all went well. App works seamlessly too.

Has plenty of adjustability to find the right feel for you. Eliminated the dead spot on my Renegades acceleration. Seems to be well made.

Product works as should. BUT, on this jeep with the 9 speed automatic, the controller and transmission does not like each other. I love the Echo mode, saves a little gas. City mode is the max for this little jeep. I have seen these controllers on high horsepower vehicles and it is AWESOME. I have also learned, it will eventually through a code.

No lag. Immediate response. I no longer fear to make left hand turns across traffic. Feels like a V6. The Renegade should come tuned this way.My wife now asks to drive the Jeep which didn't occur pre-Pedal Commander. She's used to V6 powerful-off-the-line cars and the Jeep now feels as responsive as her V6 Highlander. (Which is really quick off the line.)I live in the suburbs and drive mainly on back roads. I keep at the stock City setting. No issues with highway on-ramps, or passing at highway speeds, either. It corrects all the faults of the stock tuning. I love that I can just leave it set to one mode and it just works.Install was 10 minutes, but I'm 6' tall and not super flexible, so I couldn't see the cables. I just felt them, essentially. The Pedal Commander male/female lock tab feels just like the OEM tab. Snaps in like a dream. There's enough of a gap in the panel to have the settings box come out without any visible flex. I like that you can set the LEDs brighter per the app to visually confirm your drive mode setting.I dreaded chancing $300 on this, but in retrospect wish I had bought it the day I bought the Jeep. No single aftermarket improvement to the car has equalled this one. I'm loving the Renegade tuned this way and will drive it until it implodes from age ala the Bluesmobile. Keeping the car for additional years because of the Pedal Commander is worth $300 in my book.(My Jeep is the 2016 Latitude.)

I noticed there to be a delay in my throttle response with it at stock like when I slow down to like 10 mph and then try to press the pedel it takes a second for the engine to start going. This Pedel Commander fixed that issue and allows me to change the responsiveness to my desired settings! I have it set at City mode and -1 and I think that works great with my car. I think everyone with renegades need this! (Renegade trailhawk 2018)

Buy this. Just buy it. No seriously, buy it right now. This helped my little Renegade go kart actually utilize it's potential! I can take off at red lights or punch it in traffic without worrying about someone crashing into me. It didn't really help the awful cruise control (up hills it just doesn't gear down) but I would buy this again in a heartbeat!

This won't increase your top speed, but it will take out that initial lag, also don't run sport unless you want to throw error codes all day. I lifted and put on my larger tires on my Trailhawk Renegade, and with this hooked up on City mode, that's more than enough to keep you enthusiastic about driving your lifted jeep.

Alright, I’m not one for reviews and I’m the biggest skeptic you’ll ever meet. Just like every other person here, I love the renegade but HATE how slow the stock pedal response is. Every time I hate the gas, it would take like three seconds to get up to speed. That made left turns super tedious and Ive never been so close to death. As you might have imagined, I was hesitant to try this, but I decided why not and gave it a try. Let me tell you something. It’s awesome. The installation literally took less than five minutes. Literally just plug and play. Now you can control it from your phone, so if you’re like me and wanted to hide the controller, you can. As for the new throttle response, it’s exactly like it should be and better. I’ve got mine on Sport +3, and she guns like a corvette. What more can I say? If you’re tired of the stock renegade’s slow getup, this is definitely worth the price!!

This product is amazing, I had some doubts by reading others reviews but I feel like they are idiots and have never had a modded vehicle. It is day and night how it was to how the throttle response is now. It was lacking some zip but this changed it enough to we're my GF is buying the same jeep and a pedal commander. I highly recommend. Also came alot faster then I ecpected.

My pedal commander is amazing ! I installed it on a 2017 Jeep renegade trailhawk . I had a had time installing it, there wasn't much room to work with above the accelerator pedal , and the teeny tiny instruction booklet sucked. I had to watch you tube videos to figure out how to install it. My jeep kept giving me a check engine code, had to reset it . If you have the same problem what you have to do is re-install the original accelerator plug, open the driverside door for 15 minutes , then reinstall the pedal commander and the engine light should go away. Customer service for pedal commander was horrible, cost them 1 star. But, the control itself is absolutely amazing. I like city mode the best. It does use more gas though, but its worth it. Sport mode makes the pedal very sensitive. It really feels like a 6 cylinder even though it doesn't increase horsepower.

Hello everyone, I drive a 2016 Jeep Renegade Limited. Like many other Renegade owners, a huge drawback for us is the delay in response we receive when we press down on the gas pedal. This is the solution to that, with 4 modes that will get you from granny mode to burnout Ferrari theres a mode for everyone. I received the package in the mail and took longer to look through all that came in the box than it took to install it. Be aware that it is a very tight space to get to but still rather easy to accomplish. I am extremely satisfied with my purchase as I feel it has really brought out the guts in the Renegade, especially in Sport + mode. You can watch all the videos and read all the reviews but the only way to be convinced it will work for you is to purchase it and try it out. You won't be disappointed plus Amazon's return policy is really great which made me feel comfortable about my purchase.

Just installed and what a difference it makes to the throttle response. Works as advertised. I have it set to city 1 for around town. Can’t wait to try the different settings. While installation was a “snap”, getting to the top of the pedal on my renegade was a real bitch. Small hands will save a lot of frustration. Best aftermarket product I’ve found

-- Before Pedal Commander --My 2015 Jeep Renegade Trailhawk 2.4L had become one of those things that I was hoping I would somehow not be underwater on my loan any longer so that I could trade it in. Don't get me wrong, it is a nice looking vehicle and comfortable. That is about where it ended though as it was no longer fun to drive and the lag between when my foot hit the pedal and when the vehicle finally took off at times seemed like I was letting fate take the wheel. Merging onto an interstate highway where most other drivers are already going 80+ MPH was dangerous and at times a white-knuckle experience until getting up to speed.-- The Install--The install took me no more than 10min ---- the biggest issue that I had was figuring out how to get the gas pedal connector off so that I could put the Pedal Commander on . . . [Hint: When you look up under your dashboard and look near the top of the gas pedal, you will see the connector and it will have a dark brown/burgundy color plastic piece that you should be able to see pretty easily. Grab the connector by the left and right sides and gently pull toward you, once it starts to move a little you should be able to get a fingernail or something small near the side that is facing you to finish pulling --- then just lift the connector up off of the top of the pedal. Repeat in reverse for the Pedal Commander connector.].-- The Outcome --I want to keep my Renegade! The pickup that I am now experiencing is like nothing I have ever experienced in my Renegade before. It is like I have a whole new vehicle and it is fun to drive! I currently have mine set for City 3. A couple of months ago, I test drove a 2018 Jeep Compass and was surprised to find out that they have the same engine and transmission as the Renegade, but the software has been tuned so the lag is pretty much gone. My Renegade, with the Pedal Commander, now seems to have even more takeoff than that 2018 Jeep Compass that I test drove. I honestly, with all sincerity in the world, am so happy with my Renegade now and it's all thanks to the Pedal Commander. I am so impressed! This is how my Renegade should have driven from the day I purchased it!

Very good investment and easy to install ... if your on the fence about getting one then I would suggest you get off the fence and get one already !
