WAKE UP YOUR POLESTAR 4 WITH PEDAL COMMANDER®

The Polestar 4 is a sleek electric SUV-coupe with up to 544 horsepower in dual-motor trim and a 0–60 time of under 4 seconds. It's the most performance-forward Polestar in the lineup. However performance-oriented it is, the factory drive-by-wire accelerator pedal is detuned from the factory, causing a sluggish initial response.

The Pedal Commander® accelerator response controller eliminates the initial lag in pedal response. It remaps the drive-by-wire signal and offers 4 modes (Range+, City, Dynamic, and Hyper) and 36 settings to dial in power delivery. On top of that, the built-in Anti-Theft feature allows you to disable the pedal completely, adding another layer of security to your Polestar when it’s parked in remote areas.

WHAT IS ACCELERATION LAG?

By design, EVs are infinitely responsive and can deliver their full power and torque from the moment you tip the pedal. But manufacturers detune that responsiveness. Electric vehicles use the exact drive-by-wire technology as ICE cars, and the accelerator pedal signal is programmed to be smooth, resulting in a noticeable “dead zone,” especially in the Polestar vehicles. Even though Polestars boast powerful electric motors, the initial takeoff is delayed and unresponsive.

This is where the Pedal Commander® accelerator response controller comes in. It is the ultimate fix for the factory delay, and the best plug-and-play aftermarket upgrade for your Polestar 4. Pedal Commander® is compatible with any Polestar 4, whether it is the single motor, dual motor, performance variants, and any trim level or model year.

The Pedal Commander® accelerator response controller connects in line with the drive-by-wire pedal position sensor. It intercepts the signal and remaps the factory calibration with Polestar-specific software. It removes all restrictions and eliminates the dead-zone feel. You get four modes (Range+, City, Dynamic, and Hyper), each with nine fine-tuning levels, so you can dial in the response however you want.

From instant and linear response in everyday driving in City mode, all the way up to Hyper which delivers raw and instant power to unlock all your EV has to give, you have total control over the power delivery. The basic steps of the Pedal Commander® installation are always the same regardless of the vehicle's make and model:

Turn off the ignition and wait 10-15 minutes with your driver's door open to allow your ECU to shut down.

Disconnect your accelerator pedal assembly plug, then plug in the heads to connectors on the Pedal Commander® harness.

Clean up the area where you want to mount the control unit with the alcohol wipe. Stick the bracket with the supplied velcro.

After you make sure the cables are secure and won't be tangled, you are ready to enjoy Pedal Commander®.
