WHAT IS THROTTLE LAG?

When you first press down on the accelerator, there is a delay before anything actually happens. Electronic Throttle Control (ETC) systems cause this as they take the signal from the accelerator pedal when you press it and send it to the vehicle’s ECU. All of this process causes a delay called throttle lag. Besides, manufacturers deliberately leave the delay there because it makes the vehicle suitable for various types of drivers.

Some may need such precautions, but the delay may become frustrating in some scenarios. Pedal Commander® is the easiest and most effective solution for Acura TLX drivers who want power instantly.

Contrary to the old cable throttle systems, the throttle valve’s opening speed and how much it opens are regulated by the manufacturer’s preset values. The Pedal Commander® throttle response controller modifies the signal from the throttle position sensor so the valve opens up completely and changes the speed at which it operates. The basic steps of the Pedal Commander® installation are always the same regardless of the vehicle's make and model:

Turn off the ignition and wait 10-15 minutes with your driver's door open to allow your ECU to shut down.

Disconnect your accelerator pedal assembly plug, then plug in the heads to connectors on the Pedal Commander® harness.

Clean up the area where you want to mount the control unit with the alcohol wipe. Stick the bracket with the supplied velcro.

After you make sure the cables are secure and won't be tangled, you are ready to enjoy Pedal Commander®.

I added Pedal Commander to my 2020 Acura TLX A-Spec ShAWD. The results have been impressive. The car is much more responsive and I feel I can really use the 295 HP off the line and changing lanes. Also makes general driving in Sport much more spirited. I would highly recommend it. Getting to the throttle switch is a little tight, but after a bit of nudging, I was able to disconnect it and install the PC connections. Pretty easy upgrade. This + a cold air intake makes for a really awesome sports sedan. Thanks!

The device works as advertised, money well spent, the sport+ level 4 is way sensitive, make sure you tried all settings, other wise might not be what you want, especially if you have turbos. Normal settings on my acura tlx type s with level 3 sport works fantastic and of course under dynamic mode sport and sport ++ even more than better.
