Electronic Throttle Control (ETC) systems cause this as they take the signal from the accelerator pedal when you press it and send it to the vehicle’s ECU.     The basic steps of the Pedal Commander installation are always the same regardless of the vehicle's make and model:
  • Turn off the ignition and wait 10-15 minutes with your driver's door open to allow your ECU to shut down.
  • Disconnect your accelerator pedal assembly plug, then plug in the heads to connectors on the Pedal Commander harness.
  • Clean up the area where you want to mount the control unit with the alcohol wipe. Stick the bracket with the supplied velcro.
