WHAT IS THROTTLE LAG?

When you first press down on the accelerator, there is a delay before anything actually happens. Electronic Throttle Control (ETC) systems cause this as they take the signal from the accelerator pedal when you press it and send it to the vehicle’s ECU. All of this process causes a delay called throttle lag. Besides, manufacturers deliberately leave the delay there because it makes the vehicle suitable for various types of drivers.

The basic steps of the Pedal Commander® installation are always the same regardless of the vehicle's make and model:

Turn off the ignition and wait 10-15 minutes with your driver's door open to allow your ECU to shut down.

Disconnect your accelerator pedal assembly plug, then plug in the heads to connectors on the Pedal Commander® harness.

Clean up the area where you want to mount the control unit with the alcohol wipe. Stick the bracket with the supplied velcro.

After you make sure the cables are secure and won't be tangled, you are ready to enjoy Pedal Commander®.

I love the multiple (38!) setting that allow me to find my Goldilocks setting. Right now I am set at Sport -3 which seems to be a nice combination of responsiveness without being too sensitive. I highly recommend buying a pedal commander for your drive by wire daily drivers. This plug n play module is an easy install and will eliminate the drive by wire accelerator lag. I installed the pedal commander in my BMW X5 add man oh man what a difference!! The throttle response is unbelievable! My X5 is actually fun to drive !!!

Thrilling experience. Eliminated Turbo lag for X5 F15 50i. The Vehicle thrusts forward ( violently on turns ) as if it’s tied down and wants unleash itself. Ready to rumble at every mode. This is probably how the stock X5 F85 maybe for 0 to 60 mph speed. If you don’t want to tune engine or modify ECU or are skeptical to re-program DME then just do Pedal Commander. You live thru it’s performance response. Keep in mind no HP or Torque is gained.
