When you first press down on the accelerator, there is a delay before anything actually happens. Electronic Throttle Control (ETC) systems cause this as they take the signal from the accelerator pedal when you press it and send it to the vehicle’s ECU. The basic steps of the Pedal Commander® installation are always the same regardless of the vehicle's make and model:

Turn off the ignition and wait 10-15 minutes with your driver's door open to allow your ECU to shut down.

Disconnect your accelerator pedal assembly plug, then plug in the heads to connectors on the Pedal Commander® harness.

Clean up the area where you want to mount the control unit with the alcohol wipe. Stick the bracket with the supplied velcro.

After you make sure the cables are secure and won't be tangled, you are ready to enjoy Pedal Commander®.

I have only test drove the car since installing. My initial reaction is that it did get rid of the acceleration lag. The accelerator is “twitchy” which is to be expected. However, I noticed that the car does not decelerate like it did in stock form. It seems to hold the speed for a second or more before you start slowly down. This could be dangerous. I’m going to put some miles on the car and better evaluate the product

I own a 05 SRT-6 and the e throttle lag is horrendous. You have no idea how bad it really is until you install the pedal commander. This should have been the very first mod I did to my car. When installing on the crossfire make sure you have a pen magnet. It needs to have the smallest circle head you can find because you won’t be able to remove the washer that holds the pedal in place. Everything else is simple as far as installing goes.

Does exactly what it says, definitely increases throttle response at a touch of a button. Will not make your car or truck faster but better response will make it seem that way to the simple mind. With forced induction (turbo or supercharged) it has it's benefits for sure. If looking for bwtter mpg reducing the throttle response will aid (just like the eco mode on many newer cars). I wish it were a lower cost for what it does considering you can tune a ecu at the same cost.
