WHAT IS THROTTLE LAG?

When you first press down on the accelerator, there is a delay before anything actually happens. Electronic Throttle Control (ETC) systems cause this as they take the signal from the accelerator pedal when you press it and send it to the vehicle’s ECU. All of this process causes a delay called throttle lag. Besides, manufacturers deliberately leave the delay there because it makes the vehicle suitable for various types of drivers.

The basic steps of the Pedal Commander® installation are always the same regardless of the vehicle's make and model:

Turn off the ignition and wait 10-15 minutes with your driver's door open to allow your ECU to shut down.

Disconnect your accelerator pedal assembly plug, then plug in the heads to connectors on the Pedal Commander® harness.

Clean up the area where you want to mount the control unit with the alcohol wipe. Stick the bracket with the supplied velcro.

After you make sure the cables are secure and won't be tangled, you are ready to enjoy Pedal Commander®.

It completely eliminates throttle lag, or if you're looking for better fuel economy out of your car you can set it to Eco mode and you will see a improvement in your gas mileage.

This is a great thing. It really improves your car. The gas pedal is set to be sensitive and it is nice to start moving from a stop at a traffic light in a stream and not to move like an old man. The only problem is that in Sport mode in all four submodes the car drives as if without Pedal Commander. But Eco, City, Sport + work great. I will not say that the car becomes a racing car, but it is very nice to start moving from a stop.

A product that truly works! They never claimed to add more horsepower but to changed the throttle response. It makes my car feel so much more fun. I feel like I can access the horsepower efficiently instead of me holding on the pedal for a solid 2 seconds before picks up. If you drive a cvt and want more fun this is definitely the product. I've purchased the Pedal Commander for several of our vehicles over the years. They've all performed flawlessly and have made a huge difference with the grossly inadequate pedal lag that is programmed into modern vehicles. In one of the vehicles, the pedal lag and transmission gear selection was so bad that it was concerning when you just wanted to get through an intersection. The pedal commander erased this issue as it launched off the line in these situations. This particular model is for my commuter car, a 2008 Accord. The difference is as expected, a much better pedal response when needed. The car is smoother and easier to drive, is more sure-footed when you need to get around traffic, and gives you a sense of confidence when you need to rely on an immediate response from the throttle. I'll continue to put these on our vehicles as they have proven themselves over many, many years to be a reliable piece of equipment in all weather and driving conditions.

Where do I begin? It does what it is meant to do perfectly. I have had it for about a month now and have had not problems with it. 9/4/21 is when this is being written, so I will update this post about any issues I come across. I will say that the adhesive used to hold the commander in place sucks. You will have to create something to hold it in place yourself, but besides that it works.

I bought this unit after the customer service agent explained, it would be the correct one for my 20110 Honda Odyssey and there is a listing error.I hope they fix the catalog listing.This little black box rocks! It wakes the van right up no more dead pedal. You touch the throttle and the van zips right along. Honda should of made a more responsive throttle sensor. Pedal Commander makes the van fun to drive and the rpm’s rise quickly. It feels like a brand new van.Worth every penny! Highly recommended!
