WHAT IS THROTTLE LAG?

When you first press down on the accelerator, there is a delay before anything actually happens. Electronic Throttle Control (ETC) systems cause this as they take the signal from the accelerator pedal when you press it and send it to the vehicle’s ECU. All of this process causes a delay called throttle lag. Besides, manufacturers deliberately leave the delay there because it makes the vehicle suitable for various types of drivers.

The basic steps of the Pedal Commander® installation are always the same regardless of the vehicle's make and model:

Turn off the ignition and wait 10-15 minutes with your driver's door open to allow your ECU to shut down.

Disconnect your accelerator pedal assembly plug, then plug in the heads to connectors on the Pedal Commander® harness.

Clean up the area where you want to mount the control unit with the alcohol wipe. Stick the bracket with the supplied velcro.

After you make sure the cables are secure and won't be tangled, you are ready to enjoy Pedal Commander®.

So I did disconnect my battery to hook it up. Put it on city mode four. Because of the turbo, it gives it a hesitation, but just slight. When when I stepped on the gas pedal, my two front wheels just started spinning and that was traction control. I love it. It does everything. It said it would.

I’m not that impressed. I’ve been running it for a week now and I’m still experiencing a massive delay at the pedal response. I’ve tried maxing out every mode it has with the exception of eco. It feels slightly punchier when accelerating in motion, but nothing that I think I couldn’t have lived without. I was targeting an increased throttle response from a stand still and it just doesn’t help with that at all. That delay just kills.

I have a 2006 Hyundai Sonata LX with the 3.3 V6. It has 56,000 miles on it and is factory stock except for Michelin Pilot Sport all season tires, computer chip, Jet mass air flow sensor and Weapon R air intake system. These additions vastly increased performance but I needed just a little extra. Was hoping for but not expecting a big increase with the pedal commander due to when you have previous upgrades usually additional upgrading does not give full results that an otherwise stock unadulterated set up will. Took five to ten minutes to install and route wiring in inconspicuous place, Really simple and easy. Set it on top mode at top adjustment. Even for me it was too herkie jerkie, with massive unstable power. So went with sport mode and middle adjustment. Very slight difference on take off but when you hit upper low to mid range watch out. I had a 70 lb. Dometic ice box, wife and groceries for an added weight of about 500 pds. Went to pass three cars catching them at about 45 mph. Was going 100 mph in the short distance to pass. This unit just makes the car scream at about 2000 RPM to Redline. It is a confidence builder when judging if you have enough to pass safely as power just comes on like a power band in a dirt bike for all of those who know that feeling. I also have racing brakes which is good because I get much more out of the pedal and have to depress it much less. Even at a roll off idle car has more speed. Do not know of lighter adjustments or Eco mode as I will never change the setting due to my style of driving. What is impressive is that in the top setting at the highest adjustment even I would only use that in a track setting not on public roads. To say that this device even gives more than I would utilize is the strongest endorsement I could make when endorsing any power adder. To wake up your car and give you everything it is capable of in real time this is it. Anyone can benefit from this addition. Note: watch your RPM gauge because power comes on so quick you redline twice as fast.

Truly is what it’s said to be. Haven’t had no problems manually touching the buttons or digitally with the app. I have it set up on my steering wheel near the key. sticks very well as well. When I first got everything hooked up and all that. I did actually changed settings while the car was still in motion but my foot off the accelerator mistakenly really and nothing has seemed to happened maybe twice I did it. Just by having the app open so just watch out for that cause “it’s not recommended to do while the car is in motion” only at stops. no problems tho, thankfully. Overall I am truly impressed! even in eco mode(setting -5) compared to it been off there is still a difference in response time that’s is greater. I really actually drive in sport+(setting 4) a lot to be honest. IT IS VERY TOUCHY. you get used to it tho as you drive it enough but at times it stills jumps out by the slightest pressure of pedal so watch out of that. sport+( 2 or 3) is touchy as well but that four actually makes a difference. It’s truly worth every penny honestly. my mpg hasn’t had any major hit to it either with me constantly staying in sport+ so that’s awesome. I love it tho I have an intake on my car as well reason why I stay in sport so much so it sounds amazing every time I hit the pedal. definitely a lil sleeper car but this definitely makes a gigantic difference. it stays in whatever mode you last had it in when you turn your car off and on so be aware of that as well. amazing product seriously. definitely worth it. I went to auto shop not too long ago and turned it off so it went normal for my car and the mechanic safety but man when i got back in and drove I was like what the hell is this!!!! I kid you not I grab my phone so fast connected to the app, reached a red light and put it back in sport+(4) as quickly as possible. hit the gas and it was just like “ahhhhhhhhh” MUCH BETTER :)!!!!

Installed this bad boy and blew the front tires clean off the car.. rims just spinning on the pavement. Put the drag slicks from my other car on the sonata and run a 0-60 in 2.6 seconds! Put in sport+ and blew off the back tires didn’t know it turns it into a all wheel drive?? Amazing
