This is my 2nd Pedal Commander for my 2nd 4Runner. I like everything about it except the tape that is provided to stick the unit harness to the vehicle separated less than a day after mounting the unit to the lower pedal side area. I even cleaned area with cloth provided. I’ve stuck it back up 3-4 times but it still comes off. I’d like PC to send out a more permanent alternative to the 3 sided tape they provide.

Saw an ad for Pedal Commander online. Clicked on the link and went to their website. Watched a few videos of people using is, and one about installing it. Was a bit skeptical about how easy they claimed the install was but bought it anyway. The install was much easier than I expected. Literally, 10 minutes from downloading the app, plugging it in to the throttle link and driving. Performance enhancement was way beyond my expectations. If you are tired of stepping on the gas and waiting for the engine to react, this will amaze you. Worth every penny!

I put 285/70r17 tires on my 4Runner. Ever since, the truck has felt slow and sluggish. The pedal commander has been great in making the truck fun to drive again. I prefer driving Sport mode on 0. I notice a big difference on acceleration, maintaining speed on hills and was actually surprised to see a slight increase in mpg. I would definitely recommend this product.

I like the pedal commander, however the adhesive that it comes with, is not very good, because it doesn't stick very well. Yes, the surface was cleaned very well before application. also. do you guys have a different kind of Velcro by chance?

So, I was skeptical on this product at first. Watched some videos that discussed how great it was. While others bashed it to promote another similar product. Not an uncommon practice when it comes to individuals being paid to promote certain brands.
But, I was willing to try it to see if my 4Runner could get a little more responsiveness out of the throttle. And let me tell ya, night and day difference. If you’re on the fence and own a vehicle that you feel should have a little more go when you press the gas. The pedal commander does just that.
I keep mine on sport 2 and it has changed the way I see my 4Runner. You won’t be disappointed. Just know if you stomp on it you’ll get awful fuel mileage. So, don’t buy it to be a speed racer.

All the research conducted appeared to recommend the purchase for the 4 Runner.
Unfortunately, our 2024 4 Runner is brand new with a extended 10 year bumper to bumper warranty.
We elected to not install the unit and are in the process of getting a refund. Valuable research reveals some dealerships will void the warrant and cause long term issues for the purchaser even though the Pedal Commander does not flash or change the vehicle code.
While I was excited to have improved pedal response, I could not risk losing the warranty.
I am losing the cost of the initial shipping and the return shipping along with some other fees but I am retaining the warranty without risk that the dealership will void my warranty.

This product is great! It does what it says it will do. I've gotten almost 20mpg in Eco but leave it in City most of the time. Sport and Sport+ is a little much in driveways or parking lots but fun on long stretches. I really like the performance and would have given it a 5 Star rating just based on that but I gave it 4 as I would like to have much brighter LED lights indicating which mode I'm already in or want to switch to. Very easy install. Highly recommend!

This truly is the main thing any 4Runner owner needs! With my 2022 TRD Sport I also have an HPS air intake system and soon will be purchasing a Borla Touring cat back system to complete all you need for the 4Runner none of these items will trigger a light or void your warranty and the all three together can and will increase your mileage (if you can keep your foot away from the floor) and performance!!! I went through all the modes to see the difference, and my first word not words is WOW. It's hard to explain without being in the vehicle but the Pedal Commander sure does change how my 4Runner moves. I had to go on a eighty mile trip and decided to go in economy even though a majority was city driving. I reset the mileage to see what I would get after reading that I would supposedly see up to a 20% gain in miles per gallon. Well for this trip between city and highway and ended up at 21.7, when I reset the mileage before the trip I was at 18.
Lastly, I do have to say when moving through the modes you see a huge change, I went from city to economy and it was like I all of a sudden felt like I was pulling a sled on concrete, LOL. I'm not complaining just explaining how I saw the Pedal Commander works.

If you have a 4Runner, you absolutely need this.
My wife drives a jeep jku which I thought was a slow tank until I picked up a 22 4Runner. This will put the pep back into your throttle.
My dealership said I should have no trouble with the pedal commander and any warranty as they have not experienced any codes being thrown because of it. The installation was pretty simple. Unless you are a bigger guy like myself and can’t contort your body down under your driver dash and get your fat fingers to release the plug. The second problem was deciding where to mount the unit.
I wish the cord was routed from the bottom of the box allowing an easier direction of left and right instead from the side.
If you are worried about gas mileage loss, I am driving a gas hog 4Runner and any improvement in acceleration is worth the very minimal loss at the line.

I can really mess up the easiest of installations. This was more than simple. Almost too simple. But no; a few clicks, an app download (optional), and boom, done. Noticed immediate accelerator response in all the modes. Yes, watch out for Sport and Sport+. We drove 2,000 highway miles and my 2023 4Runner averaged 22.8 MPG even climbing thru the Appalachians and East Coast city traffic. I expect it will get better, as the vehicle is brand new.

Once i installed the unit, it was noticeably responsive. The accelerator took on a light feel and gave my 4Runner a boost that makes driving it a blast. I also like the different options so you can choose what personally feel good for you.

This has been the best and by far the easiest modification that I have done to my 4Runner. The only complaint I had with the car is the drive by wire. I really missed the old days with a mechanical accelerator pedal. This unit provides that feeling and so much more. It was instant satisfaction. I did research on throttle controllers and the vast majority of people liked the improvement while some said "just mash the throttle down and get the same results without spending the money." Nope, negative, not the same. This thing controls the throttle. If you want the feeling of a mechanical throttle again and the ability to control your throttle to your liking, buy this and you won't regret it.

I played around with each setting -4 to +4. It was fun and very responsive in accelerating. I’m 64 years old and the days of flipping the air cleaner lid on the 4 barrel carb are long gone lol.
Gearing, wind drag, body design all contribute to the vehicle’s ultimate MPG.
PEDAL COMMANDER, doesn’t increase H.P. nor alter ECM logic,
But it’s effect on the ratio between the gas pedal and the throttle body is profound.
I am most interested in saving gas for 97% of the time. I run in ECO -4, this setting is great for Fuel economy and slip control on icy road conditions.
I actually did see an increase in MPG on my 4Runner. With 373 gears and such ground clearance, there is not much that can be done, the Pedal Commander and its control of the throttle body have given me a slight rise in MPG.
I recommend this device and it’s a quality upgrade.

Very easy to install. The two sided tape did not hold on the first night. The next morning, it was hanging by the cable. I feel a difference in the lag on the acceleration but there in no fuel savings at all. I have used it on City and Sport (sport only for about an hour). Eco is not even an option as it was even more lagging on eco mode. Unsure of how I feel about it. Next weekend I have a 200 mile trip on highway, we'll see how that goes.

Really made a difference in the performance and response, and that was at the City+1 setting! Was very easy to install, once you break the code on how the connector works. I'd suggest hooking the male and female ends on the unit together first so you can see how the clip works and how it'll come apart from the pedal assembly. I Googled it and saw a bunch of people having a hard time. One guy wanted to unbolt the pedal from the floor. You don't have to! Once I figured it out, it took all of 10 minutes to install and program.

4 Runner. After making sure it worked properly and connected to my phone I tucked it into a spot under the dash. It’s completely out of sight. I use my phone to control it. If you could make the app compatible with Apple Car play then a true 5 star review!!!!

i knew these worked since friend has one in his 6.2L Raptor and what a huge difference it makes in the 4.0L 4runner motor. in stock format its a very gutless feel and the PC fixes that.
even in city mode its a night and day difference. the 8 sensitivity settings in each mode are nice to be able to find the perfect spot for your liking.
gas mileage hasn’t changed around town either since my foot was always into anyway to get the car moving. its just less effort now. a must have.

At first, I wasn’t sure about purchasing a Pedal Commander my friend recommended it to me. He owns a jeep gladiator Rubicon I just purchased a 2023 Toyota 4 Runner, TRD off-road premium. I was happy with the 4 Runners stock throttle performance my friend recommended it to me, so I said to myself OK what the hell let’s try it I’m so glad that I did very happy with the Throttle performance of my 4 Runner now I love this thing highly recommend it great product and easy to install.

Ok, just put it in my 2011 4Runner today. Took all of 3 minutes to install. I’m not a big review person. Having said that, I will admit wholeheartedly that the Peddle Commander works. It actually works great! Completely gives normal acceleration if you like or you can beef it up several notches. I am using city mode at plus one for now. May even just use normal city mode cause I can see my heavy foot costing me more in fuel. I’m Amy case this product really does work, it’s easy to install and it gives you all the options you need. Worth every penny.

As it seems with everything these days, misrepresentation is rampant. This product (for a 2023 4Runner with less than 4K miles) was like most others, misrepresented, but I chose to purchase and give it a try anyway - everything I saw and read indicated that it could be installed in 5-10 minutes, WRONG, I think it took MAYBE 3! Very simple!
While I am disappointed with the "sticky" on the velcro pad provided as it keeps falling off, but as far as the actual Pedal Commander goes, it has worked flawlessly since install, and the results are very pleasing. I am running on the "City +2" setting and for my driving style it is plenty, but I did test Sport and Sport +, impressive!

Amazing difference in my 2010, 4.0 4Runner..Have went through every setting to see the difference, and WHAT a difference. IMO, I will not be using the sport+, im sure it has its place somewhere, but not for me, just flat too much and afraid I will tear something up. With that being said, I would purchase it 100 times over ! Get you one, you WILL NOT be disappointed !!!

Unleashed all 8 in my 08 4runner! I just got it delivered today and plugged it in...and oh my did it make a difference!! Feels like Betty is alive and ready to run! This is my second 4runner with a V8 and love the truck, now I'm falling in love all over again. This is what has been missing, and like others have stated should have came like this from factory. The throttle adjustments are great, you actually get to fine tune it for your personal preference. I'm currently in sport 3, that might change but love that when I need some rabbit it's right there!!

My first Pedal Commander was for my ‘12 Tacoma after learning about why you need one and what it does. It COMPLETELY changed it!! Gave me more than I expected. So naturally I added one to the 2021 Challenger with the same result!! Beast mode!!

Absolutely very satisfied with this product!!! I’m telling every 5th Gen 4Runner owner I (casually) meet and know so as not to appear too weird. This thing is AMAZING!!! It DOES NOT increase hp people. BUT it does increase or decrease the electrical input to your electric throttle that makes it feel peppier, or slower I guess, when you accelerate. I’ve only tried City 3 and 4 cause they were the most recommended “everyday” settings from the YouTube videos I’ve watched. I accelerate faster and when getting on the freeway I have better acceleration and it stays in gear longer and somehow shifts smoother too. It feels like what the 4Runner should feel like from the factory IMO. I haven’t reviewed my mileage yet, but the driving experience is so pleasing that I will never drive without it ever again. TOTALLY WORTH the $250-$300 it costs depending on where you get it. No snake-oil her folks. Buy one and change my mind. NOT A SPONSOR!

This isn’t my first Pedal Commander rodeo… I’ve used this product on my 2018 Silverado and 2021 Tahoe (officially done with Chevy… service dept r@pe common practice!), and now installed on my 2023 4Runner TRD Pro, which most know has amazingly annoying lag on throttle response. The Pedal Commander, set simply on City-2, has improved performance immensely… literally night and day change for the better!!!

Installation was pretty easy and fast, I watched a couple videos on it as well. My first drive with it s sled the deal for me, it’s exactly what my 4Runner needed. City 3+ is perfect for me, I tried a couple of the sport settings and it seemed to be a bit much and not what I was looking for. I’m also getting another 1.3 miles to a gallon, not a whole lot but it is an improvement and eventually will pay for itself(many years down the road). Every mile counts though, especially when you add stuff to your rig. Really helps when getting on the highway, something I do a lot of. I am extremely satisfied with the purchase and only wish I’d bought it years ago.
